By: Gary Hutchens Beginning in early 2020, the Covid pandemic changed the social, economic, business, professional and religious landscape of our nation. For a period of time virtually everything other than the food and health care industries was shut down, including churches. New variants of the original virus have continued to hinder the settling of our culture back into some semblance of normalcy. Here at Sunny Slope we began meeting in the building again for Sunday morning worship on the first Sunday in June, 2020. In the fall of that year we restarted Sunday morning Bible classes. In January of 2021 we once again began meeting on Wednesday evenings for mid-week Bible classes. Toward the end of last year a group of men began meeting on Tuesday evenings for a Men’s Fellowship/Bible study.
This evening at 6:00 pm we’ll begin meeting again on Sunday evenings to worship God and study His word. The format will be different, at least for a few months. We’ll have an opening song and prayer and then launch into a thirty minute video study on how God guided the Bible to be written and put together, and why we can be absolutely confident that it is truly and accurately God’s word. That will be followed by an invitation song, the Lord’s Supper and a closing prayer. Our goal is to be dismissed by 6:45 pm. Events going on in this world right now can be challenging to our faith. We encourage you to come and take part in the fellowship and grow in your faith as we gather together as God’s family on Sunday evenings. And, bottom line, we seek to glorify God through this time. Hope to see you this evening at 6:00 pm... Comments are closed.
